OUR INCLUSION STATEMENT:

At our school, we are committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing community where every child feels they belong, are valued, and are supported to thrive. Guided by our motto Grow Together; Learn Together; Feel Loved, we foster a culture where diversity is celebrated and every individual is respected for who they are.

We believe that when children feel safe, understood, and cared for, they flourish both emotionally and academically. Through empathy, respect, and awareness, we build strong relationships that promote wellbeing, kindness, and a deep sense of belonging.

Our learners are encouraged to develop independence, resilience, and motivation, empowering them to take ownership of their learning and embrace challenges with confidence. We nurture a growth mindset where mistakes are valued as part of the learning journey, and perseverance is celebrated.

By working and learning together, our pupils develop the confidence, collaboration skills, and self-awareness needed to succeed in an ever-changing world. We prepare every child not only for the next stage of their education, but for life—equipping them to contribute positively to their communities with compassion, ambition, and integrity.

GROW TOGETHER

Every child belongs and is able to develop as a confident, resilient and valued member of our school community.

Strategic Objective 1: Strengthen belonging and participation

Ensure every child, regardless of need, background or circumstance, experiences a genuine sense of belonging and is able to participate fully in the academic, social and wider life of the school.

We will:

• identify and remove barriers to participation;
• actively promote positive relationships, friendship and connection;
• ensure pupils with SEND and additional needs are represented and included in all aspects of school life;
• listen to pupil voice and use it to shape provision;
• promote understanding and celebration of difference.

Strategic Objective 2: Develop independence, resilience and self-belief

Enable children to understand themselves as learners, recognise their strengths and needs, and develop the confidence and strategies to overcome challenges.

Every child receives high-quality teaching, appropriate support and ambitious opportunities to achieve their potential.

Strategic Objective 3: Secure ambitious, inclusive teaching for all

Ensure high-quality adaptive teaching is the foundation of SEND and inclusion provision, with high expectations for every learner.

We will:

• develop consistently strong adaptive teaching across the curriculum;
• ensure reasonable adjustments enable pupils to access learning alongside their peers;
• use assessment effectively to identify barriers and next steps;
• provide targeted intervention where additional support is needed;
• ensure support develops independence rather than creating dependency.

Strategic Objective 4: Identify needs early and respond effectively

Develop a proactive approach in which emerging needs are recognised early and children receive timely, evidence-informed support.

We will:

• strengthen early identification of SEND, SEMH and other barriers to learning;
• use the graduated approach of assess, plan, do and review consistently;
• ensure provision is responsive to individual children rather than dependent upon labels;
• monitor the impact of interventions and adapt provision accordingly;
• work effectively with external professionals where specialist expertise is required.

Strategic Objective 5: Build collective expertise and responsibility

Create a culture in which inclusion is understood as everyone’s responsibility and all staff have the knowledge, confidence and skills to meet diverse needs.

We will:

• provide high-quality professional development around SEND and inclusion;
• share expertise and effective practice across the school;
• develop staff understanding of neurodiversity, communication, sensory needs and SEMH;
• support staff to respond to behaviour with curiosity, consistency and compassion;
• use coaching, collaboration and reflection to continually improve practice.

FEEL LOVED

Every child is known, understood, safe and cared for.

Strategic Objective 6: Prioritise relationships, wellbeing and emotional safety

Ensure strong, trusting relationships underpin learning and that children’s emotional wellbeing is recognised as fundamental to their success.

We will:

• create predictable, nurturing and emotionally safe environments;
• ensure every child has trusted adults who know and understand them;
• embed relational and restorative approaches;
• recognise behaviour as communication and seek to understand the need beneath it;
• provide appropriate support for children experiencing emotional or social difficulties.

Strategic Objective 7: Work in genuine partnership with families

Build respectful, trusting relationships with parents and carers, recognising families as essential partners in understanding and supporting their children.

• involve parents and carers meaningfully in planning and reviewing support;
• provide accessible information about SEND and inclusion;
• work collaboratively when difficulties arise, maintaining the child’s needs at the centre of decision-making.

Develop children’s understanding of themselves and others so they leave our school compassionate, curious and confident about living and working alongside people who may think, communicate, learn or experience the world differently.
