Year 6 – The Great Explorers

The Great Explorer are a fantastic bunch! This interview with Isaac and Isla from Y6 will sum up what life is like in The Great Explorers!

How long have you been at this school and what three words would you use to describe being in Y6?

We have been here for nearly 7 years!  The three words I would use are fun, energetic and hardworking (Isaac) and I would say ‘the best school’. (Isla)

What do you like learning about so far in Y6?

Isaac: I like maths because I’m a mathsy person and in P.E we do more things now we’re Y6 – because we’re more grown up and we actually get things done!

Isla: I like science because of all the fun stuff we get to do in it and I like art because you can get better as you go through the years.

Now you’ve been in school for 6 years, who are your favourite authors and books?

Isaac: In the summer holidays I found out about Ross Montgomery – he’s an author for people my age but he does lots of books about different things. My favourite is either Perejee and Me or I am Rebel. It’s about a dog who goes on a quest to save his owner from joining a rebel tribe.

Isla: I like a lady called Holly Webb because she writes books about animals. I love the Railway Kitten.

Sum up what it’s like to be in Y6 in less than 10 words

The best year in the best school. Mr Rawlinson is great!
